What kind of emergency vet didn't have a working phone or available voice mail?! Tried calling because if a sick pet, not able to get through at all.

Arrived at 730pm on a Tuesday for my dog. Signed in and were told there are 4 animals ahead of us barring no others show up with a higher precedent emergency. At 830pm the vet tech evaluated our dog and they couldn't give a time to be seen and said there's 1 vet and 2 techs on duty and were trying to get another vet to come in. At 10pm we inquired and were told they were clearing rooms and 1 animal was ahead of us and would be in shortly. Called to set up an appointment with one of the Vets recommended by out private vet. Was told not till next week. Well, he needs the test now. Why are they even there?
