I was surprised by the cost. My dog was examined after possibly ingesting a toy, and the visit cost around $100 before any diagnostics were even done. They didn't answer the phone so we had to go in. We were just there for guidance on next steps not for a full on exam which we got charged for. All the doc did was check her heart and two other things and that was it. I COULD'VE DONE THAT. I am from out of state and while in Manhattan visiting family, my little man (dog) suddenly became very lethargic and nauseous. I first called K-State Emergency Vet but did not feel they were interested in helping. I then called Blue Hills Veterinary Hospital and spoke with Ethan. He was polite, helpful, and upfront about the fact that they were busy, but assured me they would get to us as quickly as possible. Friendly staff and vets were thorough. They have great extended hours and called me with results and answered additional questions. They were kind to my dog and took care of her needs. I've newly moved to the area and was pretty impressed with the staff - especially after being nervous about going somewhere different with my pets after 3 decades at the same vets office since I was a kid.

Blue Hills Vet and Urgent Care is a great addition to the Manhattan community. They provide an excellent alternative for urgent care and hospital treatment for the community. They were great in communicating plan of care and progress for our Boston Terrier when he needed treatment for a medication overdose. Highly recommend!

I would give this clinic 10 stars if I could. I woke up at 3 a.m. to my dog being violently ill and stayed up all night caring for her until the office opened. I was exhausted and very worried, especially after recently losing my 15-year-old dog, and in my panic I drove there without even thinking to call first. When I arrived, I called from the parking lot because I didn’t want to risk bringing a sick pet inside and exposing other animals.
