My whole life I've had problems because of how much I sleep (I've lost a marriage, jobs, had issues in the air force) and was told I was lazy. Someone suggested I see Dr. Achaen at IU Health and they did a 24 hour sleep study and found I have idiopathic hypersomnia... He started me on a stimulant and CHANGED MY LIFE. Even now, I have been on the same dose for years and I feel like a normal functioning person. When I don't take it, I wake up every hour on the hour at night and fall back asleep before I even can lay back down ... read more
