Named after a famous pizza maker, Angelo’s at the corner of 55th Street and 2nd Avenue is one of a few restaurants in Midtown named for the man. It does him justice. Except for the finicky, Angelo’s is a solid choice for good basic Italian fare. Fresh ingredients make the difference, especially for the coal-fired pizzas.
