I had a routine annual physical exam with Dr. Salinas in December. It should have been fully covered by insurance. I believe he inappropriately "upcoded" me resulting in additional charges that were IMO not reasonable. He's refused to adjust the billing. I can't trust a doctor to give me impartial appropriate medical advice if I can't trust his billing practices. My husband went in for a routine annual physical exam on January 2. He was told during the 5 minute visit that the annual exam would be fully covered by insurance and that he would be notified in advance if Dr Salinas ordered any bloodwork outside the coverage and if there were any charges outside of the physical. Before he had the blood work, we later received a bill. When I contacted Aetna, I was told the provider billed services outside of an annual physical. While Dr. Salinas himself is lovely, his staff is less than stellar. I made an appointment last year, which was cancelled at the last minute and took two-months to reschedule. At that appointment I found Dr. Salinas to be a lovely physician, and MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THIS YEAR. Fast forward, I received 3 separate confirmation notices of my appointment for 8AM on Monday.
