This guy reviews authorization requests for Cigna. I got diagnosed with an immunodeficiency a couple years back. I started treatment, got a year in, FINALLY started to recover, and then Cigna decided to deny my authorization for my immune globulin infusions. Without these infusions my life expectancy is 47. Having to go off of them for 6 months resulted in severe illness for 10 months. Only seen by MD once a year post PET scan. Never any physical exam, relies totally on blood tests & scans. Sent for PET scan 4 days post Rituxan infusion, which, obvious to most caused a false positive scan. Dr. insisted biopsy was needed. At next appt. left to wait in exam room for 2 HOURS for which there is NO EXCUSE. After switching docs and repeating scan..now NORMAL of course was able to resume needed treatment after a long and unnecessary interruption. BEWARE!
No wait for appt time. Very thorough and caring physician.
