I was a patient here at Shattuck for 5 days. This place is like many other government funded Medicaid detoxes, This 1.3 star reviews are most likely reviews from people who were not ready to recover and practiced gratefulness and mindfulness. The food may not have been the best but it was edible and I managed to put on a significant amount of weight while here for 7 days. This place is absolutely horrible do not send anybody here. Their address is on Google don't match up to where they actually are they told us they were in Quincy one day and now when we're on our way tell us they're in Jamaica plain. When I complained about how their address is not right and they don't answer their phones the lady was rude and kept talking over me. someone was smoking cigarettes in the building and you rounded up 10 people and threw them out at the train...... no money no phone nothing.....my god where is your humanity. I understand there are rules but mine was sleeping and you dropped my child without help you wouldn't even let him make a phone call. You may help some people but I feel for the 10 you did NOT help today.
This place should be closed. I’m a 48 year-old woman who had to go there to be detoxed from alcohol, (first detox) because it was the only place that would take my insurance. It was a soul-destroying experience, and I just regret I can’t sue them. They state: Treatment includes case management, individual counseling and group counseling.
