Andrea Osterlund has been my doctor for years and while fortunately I only see her annually shes efficient and straight to the point. She listened to my list of concerns and reassured me and also gave great feedback and easy instructions to follow for someone showing signs of insulin resistance. I'm a long time KP patient and have met with many doctors and specialists over the years. However, I've never met someone like Dr Andrea Payne Osterlund. The interaction was awkward and I felt like I had to guide the interaction because her answers were short and followed by long pauses. After reading other reviews about her, I agree with their sentiments that she struggles to 'connect' and empathize with others. I’m new to Kaiser and work in healthcare as a registered nurse. I can’t say I’ve ever written a bad review before, but this has been one of the worst doctor visits I’ve ever experienced. I only wish I would have read all the reviews before choosing her as my PCP because my experience was almost identical to some of the others. I have never been to such a dismissive doctor. She obviously has an agenda. I cannot help but wonder if there are some kind of kickbacks she received for prescribing medication. Before I had ANY blood work done and as she came into the room, all she talked about was Metformin. I expressed concern about it, as I have heard so many negative things. I saw Andrea Payne Osterlund twice in 2020. She was as rude, insulting, and did help me at all! I went in with ankle pain, ingrown toenail and swelling issues I asked for hormone tests. She completely blew me off on all of these things. I got new insurance in 2021 and solved all issues. I had a torn Achilles’ tendon, sensitive to gluten causing swelling, and fixed the toenail and feel like a whole new person. Andrea was so awful to me and I’m grateful I was my own advocate and found help elsewhere.
