I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Cercek a few months ago and she is truly wonderful. When I first walked into her office, I was anxious after reading about her impressive background. However, she greeted me with compassion and warmth, making me feel welcome and reassured. Dr. Cercek is disconnected from people. She treats cancer not people. She smiles at you so you think well she cares and she's nice but really she dismisses you after she "plays God" and "heals you". For years after oxilaplatin I have had so many problems. I have all day pain, balance loss, whole lapses in memory, short term memory loss. I worked a high end corporate job. I had an initial consultation with Dr. Cercek and her team last week. The appointment was scheduled for 20 mins but they gave me far more time than that. I came prepared with many questions and the care team not only fielded them all, they were legitimately interested in participating in the conversation. The dialogue has depth, the team is both knowledgeable and compassionate. I felt clear on the situation, clear on the options, listened to by the team, and confident in the plan. This was truly a 10/10 medical experience.
Dr Andrea Cercek is without a doubt the most amazing doctor and person I have ever come into contact with. She is a superstar in CRC oncology. Dr Cercek has the ability to make every single thing about having stage 4 cancer more palatable. I am blessed to know her and call her my oncologist.
