Made an appointment on November 20 for Dec 30. Took the morning off work and when I got to the clinic they said sorry we don't see you scheduled, nothing we can do. So lost out on using my benefits for the year.

Patients should always be informed about their options and any associated cost. Andover optical charged me 40$ for "retinal photos" instead of dilation, knowing it's not covered by insurance and never discussed my options or extra charges. Just did it like it was normal and then charged me. The clinic left a lot to be desired, It was dingy and outdated which made me question the quality of care. I expected a more professional environment.
