Most expensive bad meal ever – A deplorable Sunday evening dinner at this eatery that is ranked somewhat below the best-reputed restaurants on the Hill. Poor service from the get-go. Waitress claimed that the larger, well-lit table we two wanted was reserved, so they stuck us in a dark corner, and we never saw that other table occupied during our meal. As to the meal, first, we each ordered the seafood special, which differed from the regular seafood pasta dish on the menu only by the addition of clams, doubling the price of... read more
Poor Service, Overpriced, Inconsistent Food – My family and I went to Andino's on a Saturday night. We regularly eat at Italian restaurants on Federal Hill, but this was our first time at Andino's. We'd read the reviews and were looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant disappointed in many regards. The theme throughout the meal was inconsistency. We ordered two appetizers, and the clams casino were quite good, but the calamari was rubbery with an off flavor. We barely touched it, even though it was a he... read more
Not worth it – For $180 there are better restaurants to go to in Providence. The reservation was made four days ahead for a table near the window and we were given a table in the back next to the wait-staff station. Two of our diners were in their 90s and they couldn't hear the conversation or see their food. The white sauce for the tortellini was poorly prepared with the flour starch clearly not cooked, the sun-dried tomatoes were just pulled from the jar, not even chopped a little bit - and with Vendi Ravioli just down the... read more
Make reservations on the weekend! – I am from rhode island and have tried most of the restaurants on federal hill..But until recently had never been to Andino's so my wife and I decided to try it one night a couple of weeks ago. the atmosphere is very nice and makes you feel like you've gone back in time into the 50's. The food was amazing. For an appetizer we had the fried calamari and it was the best I had ever had. for our entree's my wife had the shrimp scampi and I had the veal bracciole in the marsala sauce both were a... read more
The Seating Is Important – Great restaurant. Definitely romantic, but more effective when you can double date. We joked and laughed all night, which I appreciated more than anything. The food was outstanding right down to the tomatoes. Make reservations. It does get crowded quickly and depending on where you sit, a good time can go bad real quick. Lare family groups beware because reservatons doesn't guarantee preferred seating even if you make reservations. The hostess attempted to put us un the hallway by kitchen (don't do... read more
Best Italian meal I've ever had – We chose Andino's from the seemingly endless number of Italian restaurants on Federal Hill because it had a certain old-school flair. After some tense moments with the kinda' unpleasant Vice Hostess, the Hostess seated us. A spilled glass of chianti was replaced on the house. Sinatra was blaring, which was great. The eggplant parmagiana was the best I've ever had. Side plate of linguini was perfectly done. The calimari was astounding, with hot peppers vinegar and lemon juice. No question thi... read more
Excellent food – Try thier fried ravioli, calamari, chicken parm....actually everything and anything I have eaten there has been great.
Outstanding!!!! – Comfort food? Can we say let's take a nap now? Wow!! What a giant size dinner and a good price too
OLD SCHOOL FLAVOR!!! – Try a real family owned restaurant!!! Watch the game at the bar with some fantastic food or get a romanitic table for two -you are sure to enjoy the authentic italian food and friendly staff in this classic old school federal hill restaurant. It's the best.
