We had a wonderful one-night stay at Anchorage 1770. If you’re looking for a modern luxury hotel, this probably isn’t it, but if you appreciate history, charm, and character, it’s an incredible place to experience. The property itself is beautiful. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the paths are inviting, and we were greeted warmly by the staff the moment we walked through the front door. Spent a long weekend in Beaufort. Location was ideal but the manager was very impersonal, coffee was cold at breakfast and our room wasn’t cleaned properly the first day. Since we both have travelled extensively throughout our careers we have experienced 5 star lodging but this wasn’t close to that category.
We recently stayed at Anchorage 1770 with our family while visiting Beaufort. I really wanted to love this property because the history, architecture, and location are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, our room and overall experience didn't live up to the expectations. Before arriving, we called to ask about parking since there isn't a dedicated parking lot. We had a wonderful stay at The Anchorage! The staff is excellent; very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is so delicious, and the service is outstanding. Fantastic views, location, and amenities. Definitely recommend.
