We stayed at this historic inn and unfortunately our experience did not reflect the five-star standard the property promotes. Pros: The view from the room was stunning, the location is walkable to shops and dining, parking was easy, and the evening cookies were a nice touch. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. Every staff member was absolutely amazing. The history of the inn is impressive and well communicated. My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Anchorage 1770 over the New Year holiday. The inn was so comfortable and full of history. The balconies on each floor provided a beautiful view of the water and quant historic shopping area. I enjoyed reading while rocking on the swing on the 3rd floor balcony for the afternoon. Thank you so very much for a wonderful stay.

Inn is for sale, and it shows. Chef quit the morning of New Year's Eve when an expensive dinner was planned. Lovely historic inn, but in somewhat shabby status. Location near downtown with beautiful waterfront view. Pleasant, hardworking staff. Rooftop very cool. But the place needs work. And the soap and shampoo dispensers in the rooms do not work.

My stay at The Anchorage was amazing! The rooms, the views, and food were all absolutely incredible. The location is perfect and just a short walk from the downtown Beaufort area. Amy and Frank were wonderful hosts and I look forward to returning in the future!
