Cool place. Walked a short trail with friends up to the dam. There are barbecue spots. Liked it, will definitely come back to do the longer trail.
We came here after many years. Still the same, peaceful!
Anakie Gorge Picnic Area is a perfect spot for a relaxing day out, offering great BBQ facilities and scenic walking trails surrounded by nature.
Nice, quiet picnic place, non flush washrooms, public gas stove. Long easy walks.Wood fire is not allowed, birds chirping, we saw the red Kangroo/Wallabee there.
A great relatively easy short hike, with some interesting scenery and historical features. Rock wallabies were seen in a few spots too. Mostly flat with only a couple of steep sections.
