I recently gave birth at Anacortes Midwifery Birth Center, and I truly cannot put into words how incredible our experience was. I had such a wonderful experience with Miranda and Kelly. I always felt like they had our best interest at heart and like they cared about our journey. Miranda was incredible during the birth of my son. It was by far my best birthing experience!
I had an outstanding experience with Miranda. We had to switch providers a week before our baby was due and Miranda took me on as a client without hesitation. She agreed to see my husband and I at 8pm at the hospital after a quick phone call. This was the first time in my pregnancy that anyone gave us the time of day (in this case night) to sit down with us and clearly explain things. Beware of your privacy if you do a telehealth appointment. Had a bad experince with Kelly. She had a nurse in training with her (hearing our conversation) and didn't tell me about it until almost end of the visit! She was also not interested/caring much about my issue. I don't recommend her.
From my first appointment, I felt validated, seen, heard, and cared for by Kelly and Miranda. They took my concerns about safety and the need to be believed while in labor seriously and helped to relieve my fears about birth. My bodily autonomy, choice of birth location, and preference for pain management were respected, and they communicated clearly about what to expect when I went into labor, how long I could expect to stay at the hospital after birth, and what postpartum care would look like.
