We have been taking our "furry family of four" to Banfield in Hickory NC since March 2008. Dr. Dunning and Dr. Matthews were both wonderful vets. However, since they both left, Banfields service has suffered. They claim to be "Banfield - The Pet Hospital." In May 2011, we encountered a case of Pyometra with our lab. She almost died and the only thing "Banfield - The Pet Hospital" did was take \$250 worth of x-rays and refer us to an actual pet hospital. My boyfriend and I have been taking our pets to Anacapa for the last 5 years. I cant say enough about the staff and Dr. Burner. My pets receive better care than I ever imagined. The staff is always professional and they greet me and my pets like friends. The practice is very clean and theyve allowed me to tour the hospital. Im always presented with options for my pets care. BEWARE!!! This company cares more about money and selling you ridiculous products than your animal. My sweet Yorkie was taken in for a prolapsed rectum. We were told that he had a high white cell count after bloodwork, but were assured that we shouldnt assume the worst. The surgeon/vet told us that it was most likely an infection from his rectal issues. We brought him back 3 days later to have his stitches removed when another vet looked at him. Whatever you do dont bring your animal here. Their staff was extremely rude and didnt explain anything, they want you to sign up for outrageously priced "pet healthcare" I took my Jack Russell there for her first set of shots. They repeatedly stabbed her with 5 different injections in the same spot. I took her back because a bubble formed underneath the skin, where she was injected, and they said it was nothing to worry about. 2 years later she still favors that leg. VERY EXPENSIVE! Vet, very nice. Receptionist, nice. The nurse RUDE AND MEAN. Unless an emergency and i am right near there, i will take my babies elsewhere.
I was surprised at how cheap it is to get a first check up for a kitten there 28 dollars! The vets are friendly and give your pets the attention that they need.
