I saw Dr. Kelton-Brand as a teenager. She became almost a second mother to me. When I'd get in trouble at school or just doing stupid stuff, my first thought was always 'What will Dr. Brand say?!' She taught me to think about the consequences of my actions BEFORE I decided to do something ridiculous or just wrong. I know that's pretty obvious to most, but to me, it was a life saving lesson. I only wish I lived closer to her now. I am 45 years old and still benefit from the lessons she taught me and the time I spent with her.... read more
