After 3 years as a patient, I was dropped without help when my insurance changed—while 18 weeks pregnant, high risk, and with Hashimoto’s. They canceled my appointments, offered no referrals, and the nurse on the phone was rude. Completely lacking compassion or concern for patient care.
I had been a patient of Dr. Shaw for 4+ years. My most recent visit was like all the rest. A brief visit with the doc and blood draw. The lab had been doing ankle draws for me for 14 visits, without any problem. I was informed that they could not do it that way a longer with no reason given. I asked for a reason and was told I'd have to go to another facility. No one could answer my question (I believe I was entitled to a reason). I was a patient of Dr. Shaw for 15 years and in that time I had rescheduled 5 appt’s and missed two. This is a total of 7 appts I was unable to make in the span of 15 years. I received a letter after missing a follow up and it said I needed to find a new doctor. I am baffled. I called the office and Pam, her receptionist that I have known for a long time, treated me like I was no one and said there was nothing they could do. Dr Shaw is heartless and doesn't take her hypocratic oath seriously
Dr. Shaw has been amazing. From the very first appointment, she took the time to explain every step that we are taking, and everything she was going to do to help me. Her office staff, nurses, etc. are always friendly and helpful. She returns calls quickly, and definitely helps me feel safe. I am very thankful for her, and highly recommend her to other patients. **Update - After a year, my labs are now normal, and my symptoms are better.
