She barely listened to my concerns and clearly hadn't taken the time to look at my medical records before seeing me. When I asked questions about the procedure, her responses were vague, and her bedside manner was atrocious. She spoke to me in a condescending tone and dismissed my post-operative discomfort as insignificant. Amy has taken care of both my father and mother in law, as well as my best friend’s mother for multiple surgeries. We continually seek her out because of her vast knowledge and experience. Every surgery she has given us guidance from start to end and are very grateful with how thorough she is. We are grateful there are providers like her in the medical field that we can trust with out hesitation.
Amy has been a surgical PA for myself and my family on two very serious diagnosis. First was when I was admitted emergently for a not so clear case of cholecystitis, actually turned to sepsis and ultimately had my gallbladder removed successfully. Horrible bedside manner. Incredibly cold, callous, and demeaning. She did not answer our questions or explain the diagnosis and recovery clearly. She would not give a firm answer as to how long to take off work, and she became bitter and complained that she couldn't telework when we questioned if that is something that should be considered for surgical recovery. She should not be in direct contact with patients. Find someone else- someone who will treat you like a human being. Amy Bower will not.
