I refinanced and was railroaded into AmWest's business by a mortgage broker who helped find my original lender. Even after all the closing costs were negotiated and signed, AmWest representatives have come back twice for more *and more* money to "finish funding" the refinance. Has anyone investigated if this is a legitimate business? They are continually asking for more and more money as if this were a scam.

They leaked my information and now I have frauds alerts.One of their loaner officer from ******** used his own gmail address sent out sensitive information, which my ss#, home address, date of birth, cell phone numbers. This company has their employees did the job that I think it's very shady. For instance, they sent sensitive documents without encrypted code. STAY AWAY. I'm a real estate professional. I only share that fact to let you know I work with a LOT of lenders. Here's what you need to know about AmWest. Horrible business. After not adjusting the escrow account on our mortgage (and without notifying us that they werent going to adjust the escrow) they increased our mortgage by 64% ($800 more per month). When I called in to try and figure out what happened and why our escrow account was negative, they told me I should have called in if I wanted the escrow adjusted. Absolutely awful customer service. Their customer service phone number entails listening to a few spammy ads only to have the call terminated after a few minutes. I had to call a sales line to get someone on the phone and they tried their hardest to get off the phone and or transfer me back to said black hole of customer service line. The person I spoke to was ill-equipped to even answer a phone and take very basic questions. Wish there was an option for fewer stars.

Been a customer for 2 years. I called to speak with someone about refinancing. Very hard to get someone to answer the phone, When they do its a receptionist, expected, but they "cant" let me talk with a specific person, they have to put in a request for a loan officer to call me back. After 2 weeks of calling them every other day got fed up and went with a different company. Now all I need from them is a simple payoff document (most financial institutions takes 2 minutes) and they are telling me it takes 5 business days to g... read more

I am suppose to be closing on a purchase of a home and they cleared my loan for closing But now they said they don’t have enough resources to get closing docs in a week! I’m at risk of losing $7500 And they can’t get the loan closed! I would NEVER recommend these guys to anybody! It’s been an absolute JOKE!

This Mortgage Company has very bad customer service. I'm a new customer trying to either set up automatic payments to pay my first payment. They have many numbers on my statement but none answer the phone. I do get the phone tree but waiting and waiting. I've never experienced a mortgage company to not care about their customers. I tried last month to get answers but was only put on hold again. Today I asked if I can come in personally to drop off at their facility. They finally agreed.
