sitting just outside Holland for an hour waiting for crew to show up, and move a train that was just left on the tracks without crew ! I still have an hour drive home once we get into Holland, and no one knows when the will be here to move the train !

I am currently on train 355 from Detroit to Chicago which departed at 6pm. I moved from my seat to what was supposed to be the quiet car, but there’s more talking in this car the the one I left. I was hoping to get some sleep. I am participating in a 20 mile hike vie veteran suicide awareness tomorrow and I am unable to sleep because the quiet car is louder than the other cars. This is a unprofessional way to conduct business.
What’s worse than waiting for a train for 3 house? Waiting 3 hours and being told the train is late but about to arrive in 5 minutes for the entire 3 hours. We waited 3 hours for train 0355 today at the Troy location. Tried calling customer service and they had know idea why it was late. They then routed me to “customer relations” at 7:25, funny after being on hold for 35 minutes the recoding said the office of customer relations is now closed. The conductor, Chris, was very friendly, making everyone feel welcome. The Business Class seats were not as roomy as other routes that I have taken, but that wasn't that bad as Amtrak's seats are generally roomy in the first place.
I have taken this route for 15 years and I cannot understand why the CSX track between Michigan City and Grand Rapids has not seen any substantial upgrades. The speed limits are horribly slow, especially through the csx yard in Wyoming. I could see this trip being much faster if Amtrak and CSX upgraded the track for higher speed limits. Very disappointing.
