GREAT SANDWICHES. The “Special” is my favorite, have been ordering it since 1975. Tastes as great now as then. Never go to StL without wanting and/or getting one.

Terrible customer service! Sandwich was good, but pricey. Salad dressing was terrible! I've come to expect good things from restaurants on the hill, but this place is highly overrated. I will always an forever love their bread. I go there at least once a month. But the restaurant... Not so good!!!
great reviews from L.A. – The best rolls/sandwiches we've ever had. Heard from a business associate in LA to go there when we were in town. They were right! Now that we live here it is a must for our visitors. Hot sandwich a must. Great local sodas and great great neighborhood stores.
Not impressed – I visited this bakery today and was very displeased. The service was bad and the selection was horrible. There were 4 items in the case to choose from. I decied on a brownie and it was dry and mealy. I was not happy with this place.
pretty good sandwhich – Pretty good sandwhiches if you can avoid the weird sauce they put on it. Some people say that's what makes it great. Parking can be brutal if you don't know the area.

You have to be kidding Okay..I know that I grew up in an Italian family so I may have higher expectations from an Italian restaurant than most people. I have been to this place twice. Yesterday I ordered a sandwich which was delicious. I brought out of town family there for lunch. They ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs could have been recycled as bocce balls to be used in the court across the street. They were as hard as rocks and the spaghetti overcooked.
