Zero Stars. This is in respect to short term respite care in August 2025. I happily cared for my husband for many years. He required 24/7 oxygen therapy for six years. We chose Amica Whitby because it was close to family and we were encouraged by the proposed care my husband would receive while I visited the UK with my brother and nephew for two weeks. My experience with Amica Whitby was positive right from the beginning when I met with Katarina to inquire and have a tour. The building and suites were impressive. My mother had been in and out of the hospital for months with GI issues and infections and I needed to relocate her quickly and Amica was recommended by a staff member at the hospital. My mom was discharged on December 24 and moved to Amica Whitby on December 31. The care she receives now is excellent and her health has improved a lot and there have been no more h... read more
This is the most disturbing, disgusting, disorganized place that I have ever experienced. They promised us to help with my wife and her situation but in reality they talked the talk but didn’t walk the walk. If anything there were a number of individuals that were not trained to deal with dementia. It appeared to me that there was mass confusion as to who, why and how they were going to deal with any situation. It's a lovely bldg. Lynn gave my son and me a good tour. She spent time sitting with us first to talk about what I was looking for etc. it's certainly one of my considerations when I decide to move.. Prices were higher than I expected. Thanks Lynn. Valerie
