My 17-year-old was t-boned in Salem, Oregon at an intersection. The vehicle has dash cameras facing inside and outside, and the footage clearly shows a green light. Liability was not the issue. Alex was kind enough to drag out the home insurance process for nearly two weeks before telling us Amica does not insure homes with underground oil tanks. I would have loved to know that sooner than five days before I close on a new house. They also asked for the inspection report, which is a crazy thing I have never seen anyone (including Amica) do before. Adios after 15 years.
Amica just denied life insurance to my very healthy, currently pregnant wife because she's pregnant. In 2025. Let that sink in. They literally told us her pregnancy makes her "too high risk, even though she's had zero complications and is in perfect health. This isn't "underwriting." This is straight up discrimination against pregnant women, dressed up in corporate jargon.
