AMICA was initially a very good insurance company. Proving itself, reliable and filing my claims and being honest and helpful towards me. But recently, I experienced nothing short of a scam. Was with amica for 16 years. I was late on my payment a couple times over the years but always paid. My coverage was cancelled because my autopay didn't work. I found out about this because I was sent to collections from October 8th for 170.50. I've never been in a wreck, never been pulled over, never gotten a ticket. Initially they told me I'd have to go to another company for 6 months before they'd consider offering me a policy. When I pressed them they said ok you can have insurance it'll just be $313 a month. I called to get info home owner's insurance options and obtain a quote. The lady on the phone said she could see aerial photos of my roof that showed damage. How crazy does that sound?? She then recommended I call other companies and shop around.... She also said she was emailing me a quote. I asked her to wait on the line and the quote never arrived. I confirmed my email for her 3 times and she repeated it back to me. I have never received a quote. Amica simply doesn't want to ensure certain people.
