These guys cancelled on us 3 times on the day of an appointment!! We lost a day's pay on each occasion!!! Yet we have to give 48+ hours notice to cancel to avoid a charge, if a public holiday is involved like it was on our circumstances they then require 5 days notice??? They have the nerve to charge a credit card in this current cost of living crisis, they are all about helping mental health, what a joke When asked about a refund DENIED. Do not recommend this service at all !!!
Receptionist told me have to pay a cancellation fee 2 WEEKS before my appointment and dispite paying a $300+ deposit fee. Haven't even had my first initial appointment yet and already second guessing whether I actually even want to deal with them. Which is very disappointing because I haven't even seen a psychologist yet.
Note: This review pertains to the Amherst Psychology clinic, not the Psychologists who practice at Amherst (whom I would provide a different review/rating). Amherst management do not apply any flexibility in their cancellation/reschedule policy to accomodate situations where a cancellation is beyond the reasonable control of the patient, for example sudden illness. Be careful when getting assessed here, not all Drs will sign your NDIS application forms once you get the diagnosis because they are psychologists not psychiatrists. Do your research so you don't find yourself in the situation I'm currently in. It's very disappointing after spending so much money.
I called today to get an appointment. The receptionist has no empathy. Totally put me off from making an appointment. Requested my GP to give me a different psychologist.
