I contracted Ameristar Roofing for roof repairs in November 2008 after Hurricane Ike hit the Houston area. I spent more than $10K and had my roof completely re-shingled and some decking replaced. I received a quote yesterday from this company for replace an estimated 20-25 shingles missing off of my room. I was first told that I should let this guy tarp 3/4 of my roof. This way the ins. co. would replace my entire roof because they wouldn't go to the trouble of ripping up the tarp and looking underneath it. I was told this would be at a cost of $400 but that the invoice would be writting for $1000 so I could give this invoice to my insurance company.
