I have been a customer of Amerigas for many years, with automatic delivery. After the most recent delivery, I received a bill with a charge of $4.80 per gallon, which is far greater than market rate (currently less than $4.00 per gallon without any promotions). I advise prospective customers to beware and not assume that the company will charge fairly for a continuing customer!
I am writing to express my ongoing frustration with the service I have received from AmeriGas. Every time I place an order, the delivery is not made on time, and there is never any follow-up or effort to make things right as a customer. My delivery dates are constantly changed without any notification to me, and your drivers simply do not show up. AmeriGas continues to have the best price in our area for the propane. The only problem is that it is hard to get them to show up when scheduled, especially when the weather is colder. You are given a date and then no one shows up. They reschedule and everything is great when they finally show up. We almost ran out once last year but repeated urgent calls resolved the issue. So, if you can put up with poor customer service, you will save hundreds of dollars on your propane cost with each delivery.
