We sent this letter to AmeriGas CEO, Michael Sharp. Dear Mr. Sharp: We had been a customer since 2014 when we purchased our home, but recent events have forced us to terminate our relationship with AmeriGas. Amerigas is difficult to reach by phone and relies on on-line chats to resolve issues other than emergency gas calls. Follow-up for issues identified in on-line chats is hit-or-miss and generally results in additional contact. Direct contact with local office is non-existent as everything is routed through a central office.
Scheduled a delivery going on 3 weeks ago and nothing. Was scheduled for a delivery the last day of the window I was told would happen, and they were a no show. The next day, I was not even on a scheduled route and ran out of propane. Company is a joke and the customer service is trash. Promised calls back and not once, did that ever happened.
We've had an Amerigas tank and service for over 10 years. The tank has serious rust issues, especially at the seams. Called service and was told it would cost $119 for them to inspect THEIR tank. Tech is spoke with was helpful but difficult to understand. One would expect the tech filling the tank would also inspect it, but suppose that doesn't generate revenue. Very disappointed.
Missed my delivery, after I called a couple of weeks prior to get my tank filled. Was waiting for over an hour on the phone to talk to a supervisor. Someone picked up and then hung up instantly. Starting the process all over again. Terrible customer service.
