I had CumberlandLp and they sold to Amerigas I never signed a new contract. We don’t use that much gas and it’s been a few years since I have needed it since we don’t have bad winters. I was going to buy some this year to top it off but they are penalizing me now $140 since I haven’t had to buy some for a leak test. I read the contract they placed on my account (that I didn’t sign) it does not say I have to purchase it every 2 years as the lady on the phone stated. Let us run out of propane twice. Went 2 freezing days last February waiting for fuel. Their off-shore customer service is the worst. Useless, and frustrating. Twelve or so years ago they had local offices. Everything worked great. Not now. The other thing that really steams me is their price lock in fee. You end up wiping out any advantage of locking in your price per gallon. Total rude ripoff.

My experience with Amerigas has been awful, so much so that I cancelled my service. They are basically impossible to talk to. They closed all local offices and only communicate by automated phone line. And even after cancellation, and being told that my bill was paid in full, I received another invoice for over $600.

We got our tank filled efficiently and quickly when it was running low. We did not have to miss work on the day of our fill, big thanks for that!

amerigas is the worst. if you run out of gas- plan on being out of gas for a week. If you’ve got two tanks- they will fill the bigger one up at a more expensive rate than the smaller one. There is no local customer service… only outsourced from India. Do not use amerigas if possible.
