First, I want to say that my therapist (Christina) was great. She was knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate, and I truly appreciated the care I received from her. Unfortunately, my experience with the administrative side of the practice was the exact opposite. I was charged a $50 no-show fee for an appointment that I believe I canceled. My boyfriend has been a patient with Americare for over 10 years and has never missed an appointment, until recently there was some miscommunication that resulted in a no-show charge we don't feel was handled fairly. We told the front desk at checkout that we weren't sure when we could come in next as my boyfriend always has lots of medical appointments and procedures that we try to keep track of, so the front desk put a tentative date (June 30) and never confirmed it as a firm booking. Been going to Americare locations for about 10 years or so and never had an issue in that time, but was recently charged a “no show” fee despite getting no text, or email confirmation, and having a medical procedure on that day which is insane to me. Also whoever spoke to my girlfriend on the phone explaining that I didn’t get any text or email due to myself still resting from my recent procedure was apparently pretty nasty to her, condescending, and basically said I was lying when she was relaying I never got a confirmation... read more
