Installing 4001 series Shuting down valve is a mess We need a hammer
American Valve, sadly, appears to be one of those companies that makes misleading claims. They advertise "rust resistant" and "high quality metals" but both handle and knurl rusted up within days of professional installation - it was not even exposed to rain - AND they would not honor a return. Instead, in their comment to me they say "some rust is normal" (within days!?!) so they should use that in their advertising: "American valve, some rust should normally be expected" Frankly, it makes me doubt their other metals claims... read more
American Valve, sadly, appears to be one of those companies that makes misleading claims. The handle and knurl rusted up within days of professional installation. AND they would not honor a return. It makes me doubt whether they are using brass at all, since they are clearly not using quality metals as they claim. see photos I could have bought a Chinese one for half the price. Yet I would always rather buy American but this company is a disgrace to even use the word "American" in its name.
