Bottom Line Upfront: DON'T BUY A TRANSMISSION FROM AMERICAN TRANSMISSION, especially if you are from out-of-state. I contacted American Transmission at the behest of the auto shop that my car got towed to after the transmission blew between Jacksonville, FL and Tallahassee, FL on my way home to Tennessee. I was told to have the auto shop call them because the auto shop's rate for the transmission would be better and I would still get a nationwide, 3 year/100k mile warranty. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! I would not recommend buying a transmission from these people, I bought one and shortly after the 18 months the reverse went out in my transmission!!!
American Transmission had my Durango for 6 weeks, I heard every excuse in the book. My business was almost ruined. Finally after 4,000 dollars, my tranny still whined in reverse and leaked fluid. Please avoid this rip off shop. They don't care about the customer, just their wallet. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
