Go! Take your time, and see it all. Lots of weird/obscure surplus, military and science and mechanical things. I built a brass tumbler out of an electric motor I found there. If you have no imagination, or need everything spoon fed to you, it's no fun, but if you have a creative engineering or mechanical mind, you'll see lots of ideas. Items change regularly and the descriptions are great, staff are fun. Parking lot entrance was under construction so pay attention.
This store has some of the oddest things you'll ever see. On the other hand there's probably something there for you. Something you thought never existed. The biggest PLUS about American Science and Surplus are the people that work there. They're helpful, knowledgeable, and "funny" to be honest. Check out the labels of the bins when you go there. The descriptions are outrageous.
I went in for the first time to get them giant cockroach, plastic bugs. I wound up getting more than just that, at reasonable prices.
So much to look at. So much fun. My 6 year old loves to look at everything, it takes a long time to get through the store when I have her with me lol
