개인적으론 워싱턴 박물관을 다녀온 이후여서인지 많이 실망했습니다. 워싱턴 자연사박물관이 훨신 더 생동감 있게, 입체감 있게 볼거리를 잘 전시해놨습니다. 공룡뼈를 예를들어도 여긴 그냥 증명사진 마냥 서있다면 워싱턴쪽은 사냥 연출, 다양한 높이에서 관람 가능하기 등이 더 좋습니다. 특히 2층, 3층에 있는 많은 동물 박제는 차라리 동물원 한번 가는게 낫지 싶을정도로 각 지역 동물 모형 나열에 불과했습니다. 양이 많은것보다 중요한 몇개를 흥미있게 다루는게 좋은데, 여긴 너무 평면적으로 양이 많은것으로만 승부합니다. (저는 이곳 1층 살아있는 개미 전시는 정말 재미있게 봤습니다.) 불친절 : 저는 길더센터 입구로와서 구경을 마친 후 기념관의 대표 공룡뼈를 보려했는데, 4시에 행사를 한다며 3시부터 기념관 입장을 막아 볼수가 없었습니다. 잠시 후에는 해양생물관도 막았고, 결국 저는 이곳의 대표가 되는 큰 전시물과 공간 두개를 보지 못했습니다. 실망스러운건, 저는 일찍 박물관에 갔기에, 각 전시가 언제 종료되는지만 안내해줬어도 보고싶은 것들을 다... read more

Just the best place in the whole world, if you have any interest at all in (1) animals, (2) things, or (3) people. Membership gets you past the lines. You’ll want to visit when it’s not too crowded, but there are always school or camp groups unless you do evening hours. Library is an amazing place to work. Cafeteria serviceable, fancy restaurant great, and there’s always the Shake Shack across the street as a backup. The terrace can be freely accessed from outside. The original displays are beautiful! They let you feel a part of the world the animal is living in. The painted backgrounds ar3 gorgeous! Unfortunately, they have covered the glass on some exhibits with giant text and charts covering the original scene. These should be removed. Leave the original displays be and take you modern crap elsewhere. The original wood and metal everywhere is gorgeous. Sad they coverved some tile with carpet. Modernation ruins. Leave the original glory intact.
