An ambulance ride from 2am from gallstones I was a level 10 pain in 2020 during COVID... They sent me a bill according to their records starting July of 2020 and for years to follow to an old address! Never occurred to me to call them to give insurance info. I am a medical assistant and a physical therapist assistant. I never got any treatment or a ride in their ambulance. And yet, I got a bill statement for treatment. Back in September 25, 2016.
Needed an ambulance 2016 to hospital. Never sent me a bill. I assumed my insurance covered it. Now 6.5 years later Pheonix Financial isb trying to collect $1800. The point is I never received a bill or late payment notice. I never received a bill during the 4 years. California has 4 year statue of medical limitations plus new law says ambulance services can not charge more then what the insurance will allow. Plus the debt collection is calling my husband who doesn't pay for my medical insurance. I never gave them permission ... read more
Don't agree to go for a ride unless you are dying. $3000 just to take a 3 mile trip to the hospital and I didn't need any urgent care but just thought it would be a good idea to be checked out. It was pretty much like an expensive Uber.
