I moved to Saline a couple years ago, to support my father (who had cancer and passed), and my mother. I was so fortunate to find an active Legion in the area. All the Legion's Leadership is open, transparent, listens to those who are in attendance, even conducting their meetings for members to watch. Besides unselfish leadership (what this country needs to get back to at the U.S. Congress), all the members and staff are welcoming people.
