For several years, I kept a box ready for AKS because I knew they kept a schedule for pickups every couple months. I somehow got off the list a couple of years ago and was so frustrated with other pick up services, that I sought out AKS and got back on their list this year. They are as awesome as they've ALWAYS been!
The services this organization provide may be great but the pickup service is HORRIBLE: A great disservice to those in need. I scheduled a pickup and received a confirmation via email for the pickup. I bagged all items and placed in front of the garage with the AKS indication as directed. I received a call that the driver went to the wrong location when the address was confirmed and could not pickup until next Thursday and all 8 bags of good got wet because it rained. So, I fussed about AKF not showing up to pick up my huge amount of donations. I sent a message to them on FB and a truck was sent to me right away. The two gentlemen who came to retrieve my donations, were extremely nice and apologetic. I understand that there are only so many hours in a day and how quickly time passes.
