American Home Shield is the worst home warranty service. They will not return phone calls in a timely manner. Representatives have conflicting answers from one call to the next. The company that they selected to repair our HVAC system does not answer phone calls and has a voicemail that is full. Furthermore, the company does not specify that it is a business when you call (FixIt Inc.) At this point, we don't believe it's a reputable company. Do not waste your time & money purchasing a home warranty plan.
For six weeks, with at least 15 agents, I have been given conflicting info, told I had approval, told my tech didn’t have approval, been straight up lied to repeatedly, told they will not honor their verbal commitments. 6 weeks of not one second of work on my hvac system despite extreme heat, kids, pets, and medication that affects how my body processes heat. American Home Shield is in the business of making money, not helping customers. After my recent HVAC Service experience with AHS, I’ve decided it’s better to cancel the Warranty contract and ask for a refund. After using your service request system for an Evaporative System call, the technician came out and spent all of 5 a 10 minutes looking at it and pulled a single panel (of 4 panels) off to make his snap judgement of my system. If I could give a negative 5 star review I would. They will look for anything to deny a claim or not pay out what they should. In short. Broken garage fridge. 1st tech said refrigerators won't operate in a temperature of 55 degrees. Asked for a second opinion. I moved it out side to clean it and when the 2nd tech came, he said those fridges are notorious for bad compressors, and he was going to recommend replacement. Claim denied.
