American Home Shield insurance cheated me by coercing with two air conditioning repair companies to hike up labor costs. Complaining to AHS customer service is useless. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to insure with American Home Shield insurance. A conmen company.
SCAM… 100% without a question, AHS is a scam. My best advice if you are purchasing a warranty through AHS, also get an attorney on retainer, you’re going to need it. You buy the warranty, then when something goes out it’s $125 just to call and make a claim. From there it’s an endless journey of “we are looking for a provider in your area” for days and days. Stay away! Absolute complete disgrace of a company. Had a plumbing emergency at a property and there is no way to expedite service - even calling them was stated to be a 1.5 hour wait on hold. Had to call the contractor they assigned the next morning, and they couldn't even go to the property for at least a week and didn't even know if they could fix the issue. Ended up having to pay $1000 out of pocket to have the issue fixed - and this place offers no claims process to get reimbursed. Do NOT give this company your business... read more
Do not believe the advertising, you may be very disappointed and it might be very expensive. They use tagline "Be Warrantied" and you might think that means they will make at least a reasonable offer on a repair. I have more than one occurrence that would demonstrate that as not necessarily true. Most recently we submitted for an Air conditioner repair. I’ve been a customer since the 90s with our first home. They were great. Very responsive and good coverage when needed. Over the past few years VERY DISAPPOINTED, some shady contractors with no accountability to AHS and I’m stuck with huge bills. Currently STILL WAITING FOR ESCALATION DEPARTMENT TO GET RESOLVED WITH CONTRACT RELATIONS. NO AC FOR ALMOST 2 months now!!!! Sent messages to everyone I can there and NOTHING!!
