The salesperson assured us they would handle construction dust and cleaning, as my wife has severe allergies. They promised to use blankets or paper rolls during installation. However, when they arrived, they used a blanket but placed their workbench on top the blanket (see bellow picture there is lots of room to put outside of my home.) and use mine $4000 area rug to open their boxes. I had a horrible experience with American Elevator of Atlanta. I used them for routine maintenance and repairs.I then had a problem with my elevators gate. They r recommended changing one part after another. Afternoon spending several thousand dollars their solution was to replace a prat they had replaced before or move to a manual gate. In my opinion, they do not know how to do their job and take guesses at what to replace. I will never use them again.
Be sure you don’t take your eyes off their technicians in your home. My wife left her diamond ring out on her dresser and it suddenly vanished when we left the technician by himself. No one else was in the home at the time so it taught us a very important lesson… always take the time to stay with the technician until they’re finished. My wife should’ve put her jewelry away but as they say… hindsight is 20/20 😞
The product is fine but the coordination and follow through after the sale is distinctly lacking. Their coordination with my framing contractor was poor. Detailed written instructions were not provided. This resulted in significant rework costs.
They installed a Stannah lift in my home, so I can get to the upstairs after 10 years of no access. The whole process was smooth, with 1 day installation that left no mess or unfinished business. The installers thoroughly explained how to use the lift so I had no problems later. I love my new lift, and highly recommend American Elevator Co.
