American Duchess is my go-to for beautiful, well-fitting, sturdy shoes for 18th and 19th historical costuming, reenactments, and living history. The variety of colors, heel shapes, and materials means that there is really something for everyone and every impression! They often have lower cost pre-orders, "seconds" sales and a partnership with Sezzle, all of which make the shoes easier to purchase on a budget.

American Duchess/Royal Vintage shoes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Aside from snowboots and cowboy boots, they are the only shoes I wear. Their customer service is outstanding. I can't recommend them highly enough.
