Shocking experience with AmeriGas customer service - Avoid Amerigas if you can I’ve been an AmeriGas customer for years, renting a propane tank from them, and just had the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. Our two-year old tank rusted — a defect that should have been caught during their regular service checks. Instead, it went unnoticed until the tank was red-tagged, leaving us with no heat or hot water for over a week. These guys work hard. During big storms they are out there making sure everyone stays warm. Thank goodness for their hardworking souls.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Amerigas imposes an “Early Termination Fee” $150.00 (plus whatever fees they can throw your way) if you cancel their services without fulfilling a THREE YEAR CONTRACT. If you cannot guarantee that you will use their services for THREE YEARS, I recommend going with any other propane company! Again, when you sign up for Amerigas you are signing a Three Year contract and you will be penalized if you decide you want to go with another company before your Three Year contract is complete. Worst service in the area. Use a local provider they will be available and you'll be able to talk to someone in the US if you have an issue.
