Back in the mid 80’s I was 13 and saw dr ament. I was a patient for three years. He acted like a third parent and was very controlling. No diagnosis was made. He refused to accept that depression existed in teenagers. Long story short I was actually bipolar and had a serious hypomanic episode while seeing a different psychiatrist.
