Since writing the 1st part, below, I’ve dealt with the branch staff on several matters and found them extremely responsive. Closing an old account was simple and the staff was very responsive. But Amegy still made me go to the branch. The branch staff also worked diligently to help with a wire transfer. I have been with this bank since it was Southwest Bank of Texas. The customer service was beyond compare…until about 2 years ago. The staff is rude and unhelpful, even to the point of combativeness. These are all new employees. The previous staff have all left or retired. The way they handle the account notifications is almost criminal. I am supposed to get notices if my account goes below a certain level, and account balances on a daily basis. The notices are never a true reflection of my account balances.
