I visited grand bend with my family and decided to stay at Amber hotel and the place is really great, cozy rooms and quiet place. Had a really good experience with the staff as well since they were very attentive if you have any questions or any query AND i had one regarding the exhaust fan in Washroom and the front desk responded immediately and explained very nicely that it was automatic and the fan is in there but as usual I didn’t bother looking as we all are used to the loud noise of the fan. Recently stayed here for 2 nights. Overall not impressed with the hotel for how much we paid. Bathroom was very dirty. Hair of some sort all over the toilet, no hand soap, broken hairdryer, no bath towels, grime all over the floor of the shower, and the 2 small handtowels we did have had very visable dark stains all over them. Room was quiet, beds were decently clean but overall the room appeared to have not had a good clean in a while. Will not stay here again.

The service was terrible. The staff were completely incompetent, poorly trained, and rude. Their English was very hard to understand — at a hotel of this level, at least basic politeness and clear communication should be expected. And that’s just about the staff. The room itself was in awful condition: there were spiders crawling around — and not small ones. The window looked like it hadn’t been opened or cleaned since the building was constructed.
