Dr. Amato was the best doctor you would ever meet. He was incredibly kind and compassionate. Every patient was important to him and he fought for their health and their lives relentlessly. He was so generous with his knowledge and his time. Dr. Amato's passing is a tremendous tragic loss to his patients and to the medical community.
My first encounter with him was when he called me after hours after hearing about my case. We talked for 2 hours and asked me to give him a chance. The following week, we met, he ordered tests, and had other Drs come to his office to consult with me. He went to a conference in Boston, I had my tests.
