Edit: After a YEAR of living in another province, despite having cancelled my insurance and membership with AMA in person, I found out that my membership was still active and they were attempting to bill me to renew said membership. This is the slogan, with our unprecedented demand for AMA insurance. People are shopping around due to new regulations by the Alberta government. This is a huge corporation, employed by 1400 employees. Remember, you’re just a number only to them to make huge revenue. I have been on hold anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours. Big disappointment being a policy holder for 25 plus years. I thought the 3rd party device would cut my costs down. I am paying 100 more only using 250 kms over. Poor service i called to have insurence quote the cancel my call so ashamed
While the AMA tends to have higher insurance rates than other companies, the AMA roadside assistance is EXTREMELY reliable and the customer service is excellent. They also reward customer loyalty. The AMA membership also has really, really good rewards! They offer reloadable gift cards. Each time you reload the card, you receive reward dollars which can be applied towards the annual membership fee. Reload the card often enough (we use the Sobeys gift card because a person always has to buy groceries!), and it can pay for you... read more
