They discriminate against neurodivergent children. Not once this entire summer at any other aquatic center have I been asked about my kids life jackets. When entering I said fine and let them check them because I figured safety is important. They said that they were coast guard approved so we continued to the pool. Once we got there we swam for a little bit and suddenly we were swarmed by 3 or 4 different lifeguards. Asking about her life jacket and saying it may be too big or what not and I said okay it was just checked, wh... read more
We visited the pool with my sister in law while on vacation. The lifeguards nitpicked every little thing someone did, blowing their whistles every few seconds it seemed. My 9 year old son had been riding the slide over and over until suddenly a lifeguard told him he couldn't. It was a miserable experience. We left earlier than planned.
Normally our experience at Spokane pools are positive and fun but at Cannon pool today the life guards and staff were very strict and impolite. Always correcting our kids even when we were right next to them, helping them, and following the rules. They would glare at us when we would say we are here helping them. Our kids and us didn't have any fun because of all the corrections. It felt like the staff didn't want anyone to have fun and not swim.
Honestly I've loved this pool in past years but this year it seems like the life guards are following different protocol or something. They're on top of everyone. Basically micromanaging everyone. They're checking kids life jackets multiple times and just generally seem to be more strict. It makes for a less enjoyable time at the pool when everyone feels like they're in trouble all day.
The pool it self is great however they have no problen letting your belongings get stolen. My sons scooter and his shoes were both stolen from there, separate times and they blamed him for wearing shoes! They wouldn't let him store them at the front desk as they said only phones and when his shoes were stolen they said it's your fault for bringing them as if he should of gone there barefoot!
