I feel very fortunate to have visited Dr. Shoemaker with my 6 year old mini goldendoodle Coco. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything with us in detail. She is also very patient yet firm with Coco to address some of his behavior issues. Coco is a different dog after the visit in a very good way and I am a lot more confident handling him (such as wash his ear). Thank you Dr. Shoemaker!
Vet was extremely rude and gaslit me when I told her the medications I was giving my dog were causing focal seizures. It was a very stressful experience as she argued with me about a diagnosis from several other vets and didn’t listen to what I had to say. I would not recommend going to this vet.
I always learn new things, and when Dr Shoemaker is teaching other techs or vets during the visit she packs a lot in! Love seeing my dog become more relaxed in the course of the visit as a result of the chiropractic and other treatments too.
Dr. Shoemaker and her staff at Always Helpful Veterinary exceeded my expectations. My first visit lasted 3 hours!! My dog is usually very reactive at the vet, even on “calming meds.” She worked calmly with my dog, like “Mr. Miyagi!” and was able to treat Delta with chiropractic and acupuncture treatments, cut her nails, all while building a loving, trusting relationship with her and me.
