I always though t DR ALvarados care was great for my children. I had an isnsatce with my daughter however where she was having a hard time breathing because she has such a horrible pain in her stomach. I was across the street from an Urgent care facility and took her there. This was an after hours visit, and I did try and call my insurance company but they too were closed. I have a 7 yr old son with multiple medical issues that require many specilized physicans to deal with his needs. Dr. Alvarado initial assessment was very detailed and she took the time to LISTEN to me and as a result he gets the care he needs. She offers great advise and is very kind to my son. The staff is great and have never been anything but professional to us. She is hard to see when you need a same day appointment. Most of the time my kids never saw her but a NP. When getting their shots the Nursing staff was abrupt and rude. The Dr gave horrible advice to me and misdignoised a rash that my youngest had which ended up being ringworm. I was so glad to switch my kids from her and back to their old pediatrican
Horrible... first told me if i didnt breastfeed my daughter that she would be stupid..who tells someone that?...My daughter is 6 months now and is already standing on her own almost walking. Told me she had exzema and tried to give me a steroid cream! when i took her somewhere else it was just drool rash from her teething. Very rude to my husband and didnt treat my daughter nicely. Be careful with nurses there as well when they gave my daughter shots squezzed her leg soo hard she had a bruise all the way around her,
Just recently switched to Dr. Alvarado and I have to say: She is awesome!!!!!!!! She has been giving me so many advises, like how to hide veggies in pancakes (my daughter is not big into veggies) and believe it or not - it worked!!! Also with my concerns about my daughters health, she is very professional and explains it so good - not with other doctors that you have to constantly bug them about information and she will explain it in simple english, so that a person without a phd can understand it. I cant imagine taking my 3 children to anyone else! The staff definately has some issues to work through but Dr. Alvarado was our 5th doctor here in Texas. I have 2 autistic sons (5 and 4 y/o) and a 1 y/o daughter. She is very thorough, very patient, and very understanding. She didnt give me any problems about my choice to stop breastfeeding and she was very respectful of my wishes to not give my daughter immunizations until after her 3rd birthday. Not only is this physician up on the most recent medical treatments, but she is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She helped me navigate the medical system for special needs children and has supported me and my family ever since. She has a background in developmental pediatrics and that was the reason we were sent to see her. She really knows her stuff. I would not take my children to anyone else.
